Numerous protests have taken place across the world because of the Olympics taking place in China. In San Francisco, the Olympic torch route was changed at the last minute to avoid protestors and media. Some people are mad because of China’s oppression of Tibet. Other people are upset over toxic toys and food imported from China and because of the country’s oppression of its people.
Do you think the Olympics should have been scheduled for China?
Michael Hooks Jr. has been sentenced to 30 days in prison, 4 months home confinement and 2 years supervised release for taking nearly $2000 from a government informant. His attorney said Hooks Jr. was caught up in a scheme concocted by his father, who is serving a 24 month sentence also for taking a bribe. The money came from Tim Willis who was working for the FBI and was apparently pointed toward junior by his father.
