sales tax holiday

I’m just wondering if you took part in the tax free weekend? Tennessee was offering no tax on items like clothing, computers etc. The idea originally started to give parents a break on back to school supplies but then a second weekend was added in April. There’s word there may not be another tax free weekend anytime soon since the state is having financial trouble. The state reimburses cities and towns for taxes lost during the weekend.

No, I did not. I choose not to drive and so I do my shopping by mail – in my own house, in my robe and slippers if I so choose, and with my cup of coffee, and they bring it to my door.

No, I also didn’t. I live in DeSoto County. Reading the CA daily, the boards tell me I am not welcomed in Memphis. So I don’t shop where I am not welcomed.

No, I was sick in the bed. Had I not gone to the doctor yesterday, he said I would be in the hospital with pneumonia. Guess I’m just a tough old bird…not scrawny, just tough.

YES, I took part in the tax free weekend. I went to Walmart on Sunday and bought me some new clothes and a pair of shoes. I really enjoyed the tax free weekend. My grandmother also bought her some new clothes at Walmart that day. Hopefully, there will be more tax free weekends to come. :)

I used my “economic stimulus” to economically stimulate my car…I bought gas.

I’m starting a new job in a few weeks and needed a new wardrobe so I definitely took advantage of the tax free weekend. Even got a tax free purchase of new furniture at Ashley’s for my daughter. All in all…I saved about $250.

As for the person feeling unwelcomed in Memphis…all I hear is whining. Stay home if you’re that delicate – it’s dangerous out there.

breezee….whining? All I hear from Memphis residents is that DeSoto County is getting a free ride concerning taxes paid to the city of Memphis. It will be a cold day in Hell before I will ever spent a cent in Memphis. I am not the only one in DeSoto that feels this way. So you are the ones whining all the time about DeSoto County.
